I’m Gianna, 22 years old and studying Media Design at Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences. Since I can’t evoke visual images in my mind’s eye, my creativity takes shape directly on the canvas. What happens in other people’s heads, I translate into systems, prototypes, and experiments, from Photoshop sketches and After Effects animation worlds to mathematical color accuracy in DaVinci Resolve. For me, design isn't about copying a mental image; it’s the methodical creation of visual reality.
Design bridges the gap left by my aphantasia.
HARD SKILLS
VIDEO UND POSTPRODUKTION: Adobe Premiere Pro, Davinci Resolve, After Effects
ANIMATION: Adobe Animate, Maya, After Effects
GRAFIK UND UX/UI DESIGN: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Figma

LEGOFILM -
Character Animation and Intro Animation, Motion Design
Autodesk Maya, Adobe After Effects
In this project, my artistic and technical focus was on the dynamics of movement. While the assets, modeling, and rigging were provided, I brought the character to life purely through character animation in Maya, and finalized the film in motion design with animated character intros.
MY ROLE:
Implementing the character movement via a provided rig. My main focus was on natural timing, arcs, weight, and expressive poses to breathe life into the character, free from the distraction of textures or lighting.

Designing the graphic overlays, title sequences, and animated intro scenes. Dynamic keyframe animation, timing, and typography set the tone for the entire video.

CONCEPT POSTER -
Adobe Photoshop
A visual homage to Caps’ career, reflecting my deep fascination with League of Legends Esports on both a national and international stage. It embodies everything that defines the scene: the underlying organization and tech, the rising tension of the matches, and the profound sense of community.
Topography & Accents: Vector contour lines layered over the cutout highlight facial features and the pose.
G2 Palette & Grain: Neutral exposure translated into a deep red palette, textured with noise for a gritty poster look.
Lore Overlays & Typography: Subtle champion layers in the background combined with bold "King of the West" typography.
Inoffizielle, nicht-kommerzielle Übungsarbeit.

Caps has shaped Western Esports like no other player before him. With multiple LEC titles, two Worlds finals, and an MSI trophy, Caps remains the most successful League of Legends player in Europe to this day. This poster captures his dominance on the international stage and translates his title 'King of the West' into a striking visual piece.

Color Grading
In this project, I tested color grading the same source material (a 12-second Apple Log clip) in Adobe Premiere Pro versus Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve. Because the footage was slightly overexposed with clipped highlights, the test focused on two objectives: comparing workflow efficiency, and determining which tool recovers and corrects exposure errors more effectively—particularly since Premiere Pro was previously my sole color grading environment.

PREMIERE PRO -
Up until now, Premiere Pro was my ultimate comfort zone for color grading. Adjustments were made entirely by eye within my familiar editing workflow. However, this visual-only approach hit its limits when correcting the slightly overexposed Apple Log footage: without precise scopes, it’s difficult to determine where the tonal values actually lie from a technical standpoint. Although the goal was to achieve a natural, realistic image, pushing Lumetri through the necessary exposure adjustments introduced noticeable noise beyond a certain threshold.

DAVINCI RESOLVE
DaVinci Resolve was a total eye-opener. As a first-time user, the onboarding was remarkably fluid and intuitive. The node system, accurate scopes, and features like Color Space Transform allowed for a much cleaner, more precise recovery of the clipped Apple Log material compared to Premiere. Its versatility and clean output, free from unwanted noise, delivered not just a better final look, but an enjoyable workflow. Safe to say, I now fully grasp why Resolve dominates as the industry standard.

LEGOFILM -
Character Animation und Intro Animation, Motion Design
Autodesk Maya, Adobe After Effects

Color Grading
